Scaling up Community Action for Health in Bihar

Posted on January 02, 2018

As a result of PFI's continued advocacy efforts, the State Health Society Bihar (SHSB) has developed a detailed plan for scaling up implementation of Community Action for Health (CAH) across all blocks of Darbhanga and Nawada districts, as per the State PIP approval. The implementation guidelines and funds have also been disbursed to the districts to roll out scaling up of CAH processes.

The AGCA (Advisory Group on Community Action) team and State Office facilitated a two day district level orientation on CAH on December 27 and 28, 2017 in Nawada. The orientation was inaugurated by Dr Srinath Prasad, District Civil Surgeon. 42 participants, including District Program Manager, District Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, District Accounts Manager, District Community Mobiliser, Block Health Managers, Block Community Mobilizers, Medical Officer in Charge, and our implementation partners attended the orientation. The orientation also included a field visit to the CAH intervention villages to provide hands on experience to the participants on the community mobilization and monitoring aspects. The orientation also received coverage in local Hindi newspapers.
