Mr Keshav Desiraju takes over as the new Chairperson of PFI’s Governing Board

Former Health Secretary, Government of India, Mr Keshav Desiraju was appointed Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Population Foundation of India. 

A retired civil servant of the 1978 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, Mr Desiraju has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge as well as a Masters in Public Policy Analysis from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.  

Mr Desiraju has served in various capacities in the states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh and at the Centre with the Government of India. He retired as Secretary in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. 

On his appointment, the Executive Director of PFI, Ms Poonam Muttreja says, "After the valuable contribution of Dr Vinay Bharat-Ram, PFI is both privileged and extremely fortunate to have Mr Keshav Desiraju as PFI's Chairperson. His experience in a range of sectors, especially as Union Health Secretary, will greatly compliment and strengthen PFI's programmes."
