Dr Dinesh Agarwal
Dr Dinesh Agarwal leads IPE Global's Health, Nutrition and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) sector. He is also the Policy Lead for Health & Disease Control in the DFID funded Knowledge Partnership Programme (KPP). Dr Agarwal has been the key technical resource for Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India on issues related to Maternal Health, Family Planning, Adolescent Health, RTIs/STIs prevention and management, HIV/AIDS prevention including facilitating development of guidelines, protocols, programme design, assessments and training material. He has designed and implemented UNFPA supported programmatic interventions at the national level and in five of its priority states; he has also provided need-based technical assistance to the Family Planning Division in MoHFW and state governments. He is highly skilled in gender mainstreaming, capacity building, policy advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, health sector reforms and financing. He chairs expert committees of ICMR on RH for disabled population and also on Multi Prevention Technologies. He has served as Senior Faculty in Community Medicine at Medical College in Udaipur. Dr. Dinesh Agarwal is a physician and holds a post graduate qualification specialising in Community Medicine from the University of Rajasthan. He was awarded the WHO Fellowship in Primary Health Care at Thailand, trained in Research Methods in Social Sciences from the University of Kelle, UK, in Health Financing from the World Bank Institute-Harvard School of Public Health Boston and in Designing IEC/ BCC Strategies in Family Planning from JOICEF, Tokyo.
